::Research Area::

(1) Functional genomics of pathogenic microorganisms, specially focusing on biofilm formation, gene regulation of energy and the pigment metabolic networks, and the mechanism of antibiotic resistance in Pseudomonas aeruginosa.

(2) Gene cloning, expression, regulation and application of natural bioactive substances against pathogenic microorganisms, specially focusing on nisin biosynthesis and molecular modification, immune tolerance and network control in Lactococcus lactis; prebiotics and probiotics; mechanism of inhibition and gene regulation of antifungal peptides in Bacillus subtilis.

(3) Isolation and purification, physical and chemical characterization, structure and function, and applications of hydrophobins in filamentous fungi, specially focusing on HGFI from the edible mushroom Grifola frondosa as novel nano-bioactive materials used in biosensors, biochips, tissue engineering, protection of fresh fruits and vegetables, food processing, pharmaceutical and other areas of research and development.
