Jihong Han obtained his BS and Master degrees with a major in Chemistry from Nankai University, Tianjin, China, in 1987 and 1989, respectively. He then finished his PhD degree with the major of Biochemistry in the Medical College of Cornell University, New York, United States, in 1995. From 1996, Dr. Han worked as a Research Associate at the Vascular Center of Cornell University Medical College, New York, USA. He was then promoted to be an Assistant Professor and an Associate Professor in 1999 and 2004, respectively, in the same institution. In 2007, he moved to the College of Life Sciences, Nankai University, and has being worked as a Professor of Biochemistry and Molecular Biology, Chairman of the Department of Biochemistry and Molecular Biology, and Vice Dean of the College of Life Science.
::Research Area::

Research in the lab of Dr. Han focuses on vascular biology, lipid metabolism and cancer. Currently there are several projects are going in his lab. He is interested in the role of lipids in cancer and the combination therapy against atherosclerosis. In addition, he has put a lot of efforts on pharmacology of Chinese Medicines. He has published 51 original research articles in top journals, such as J Biol Chem, Circulation, Proc Natl Acad Sci, J Exp Med, Immunity and Arterioscler Thromb Vasc Biol. So far, his papers have been cited about 2000 times with a highest citation of a single paper 276 times.

He is the member of American Society of Biochemistry and Molecular Biology, American Heart Association, and American Society of Investigative Pathology. He serves as reviewer for many top journals, such as Circulation, Circulation Res, Arterioscler Thromb Vasc Biol, J Biol Chem, J Lipid Res and Am J Pathology.
