    1983年毕业于中国医科大学医疗系本科,1989获医学硕士学位后任大连医科大学讲师,1992年赴日本群马大学分子药理专业攻读博士学位(文部省奖学金资助),1997年3月获医学博士学位(M.D., Ph.D.),在日本学术振兴会(JSPS)奖学金资助下做两年博士后工作,之后就职于日本理化学研究所任研究员。2000年末以“引进人才”到南开大学生命科学学院任教授、博士生导师和蛋白质生化研究室学术带头人。现任南开大学及天津市特聘教授,中国抗癌协会肿瘤标志物专业委员会委员,国家863计划和自然科学基金等项目评审专家。
    
    迄今共发表学术论文186篇(论著131篇,会议论文55篇),其中在《Hepatology》、《Cell Research》、《PNAS》、《Cancer Research》、《Oncogene》、《Neoplasia》、《Carcinogenesis》、《J.B.C》和《Endocrinology》等著名国际杂志发表SCI论著108余篇,并有多篇论文被生物通报道。
    
    回国后先后主持973前期项目1项,国家自然科学基金9项、天津市科技发展计划重点项目(4项)和教育部基金(1项)。参加973项目2项(骨干)和国家自然科学基金6项。培养博士后4人(其中代培博士后3人),培养博士生34人(毕业31人),硕士生37人(毕业27人),其中多人现已在高校、科研院所中成为教授、副教授、研究员等。  在美国Nova科学出版社出版专著2部,参编学术专著3部;申请国家发明专利23项,获得国家专利5项。2005年获天津市巾帼发明家提名奖;2007年在天津市"十行百杰"活动中荣获知识产权系统“十大女杰”称号; 《高转移倾向的人乳腺癌细胞系及其建立方法》的发明专利荣获天津市2007年度专利优秀奖;2008年荣获天津市巾帼发明家创新奖;2009年荣获全国“新世纪巾帼发明家”优秀奖。2014年获2013年度中国抗癌协会科技奖二等奖1项。2016年获第六届中国侨界贡献(创新团队)奖1项。
