Resume

Professor Feng is the doctoral supervisor of College of Life Sciences, Nankai University. From 1993 to 1996, he studied and obtained the PhD. from the Department of Chemistry, Nankai University. From 1996 to 2003, he was engaged in postdoctoral research in the Institute of Chemistry of the Chinese Academy of Sciences, the United States, and the United Kingdom. Prof. Feng returned back to China in 2003 and was appointed as a distinguished professor at Nankai University. The main research interests include the influencing mechanism of murine oocyte maturation, the treatment of Parkinson's drugs in Parkinson's model rats and the mechanisms, and the neurobiological research of zebrafish.

Education

From 1993 to 1996, studied for Ph. D at Department of Chemistry, Nankai University From 1996 to 1998, postdoctoral research in Institute of Chemistry, Chinese Academy of Sciences From 1998 to 2003, postdoctoral research in America and the United Kingdom

WorkExperience

From 2003 to present, professor and doctoral tutor at College of Life Sciences, Nankai University

Research Fields

1. Mouse development and oocyte maturation: The present study is the molecular mechanism and epigenetic genetics of the effects of environmental hormones and endocrine disruptors on mouse development and oocyte maturation, to study the effect of delaying cell cycle, micro-tube assembly and the level of related protein phosphorylation methylation, and to analyze whether it can cause the early apoptosis and autophagy effect.

2. Parkinson's drug research direction: Construct PD mouse model to study the improvement effect of Parkinson's drugs and its treatment mechanism at the behavioral and molecular level, and to find the active substances with levodopa in order to reduce the side effects caused by levodopa excess.

3. The research of the zebrafish field is focus on behaviors and neuroscience of zebrafish. We use zebrafish as a model to study the effects of some chemicals, such as endocrine disrupting chemicals, nanoparticles, environmental polluants, pesticide (insecticide), herbicide (weed killer), observe the toxicity of development, the effect on behaviors, such as sleep/wake behavior. At the same time, we also establish disease models, such as anxiety, depression, epilepsy models to study the effects of drugs on these diseases. We also connect behaviors research with histochemical and molecular biology methods to learn more about these mechanisms.
