Resume

In 2007, when I was enrolled in Masters, I visited Bin Xia’s lab in Peking University and started my work on the pharmacological study of compounds targeting Bcl-2, under the supervision of Associate Professor Jian Lin. In 2009, I joined Dalong Ma’s Lab in Peking University Health Science Center as a PhD student and started working on screening of the autophagy related proteins in mammalian cells. We found that ER-localized EMC6 can interact with Rab5 and promote the formation of autophagosomes in U2OS cells. In 2012, I joined in Quan Chen’s lab in Institute of Zoology, Chinese Academy of Science. There, I focused on the study of mitochondrial biology and found that mitochondria can contribute to the compensatory degradation of unfolded cytosolic proteins by employing their own proteases, or by organizing the formation and subsequent autophagic degradation of protein aggregates.
