She received her B.S. and M.S. in Polymer Chemistry from Tianjin University (China), and then received her PhD degree in Biotechnology from Tokyo Institute of Technology (Japan) in Sept. 2001. Her research interest is the construction of extracellular microenvironment with bioactive materials for controlling cell adhesion, proliferation, migration, differentiation and tissue regeneration. She has been working for development of novel functionalized biomaterials for various applications in liver / blood vessel tissue engineering, cell bioreactor and drug / gene delivery system.
