Resume

I focus on excavation and prevention of novel pathogens, together with regulation of microbiome structures and functions by synhetic biology and chemical engineering strategies. I have presided 8 national and provincial projects, published more than 40 papers in the areas of environmental microbiology, medical microbiology, and material science, and been authorized with 4 national invention patents.

Research Fields

Our team is devoted to interdisciplinary researches in environmental microbiology, synthetic biology, together with environmental and chemical engineering. Main research interests:

(1) Regulation of environmental microbiome structures and functions by synthetic biology strategies. By rational construction of artificially synthetic microbes and engineered proteins, the structures and functions of plant rhizosphere microbiomes were regulated to enhance the stress-tolerating capacity and the bioremediation efficiency of remediation plants, or to promote the rhizosphere nitrogen-fixing capacity of economic plants.

(2) Exploration and control of pathogens and drug-resistant genes by chemical engineering strategies. By mesoporous structure engineering and supramolecular assembling, a series of functional nanomaterials, e.g., magnetic assemblies, metal organic frameworks, and vacancy-engineered microspheres,  were designed for specific adsorption of pathogens and drug-resistant genes to explore novel pathogens or drug-resistant genes, and to remove these hazardous elements from the ecosystems.
